Water tankers are operationally critical on earthworks and mining sites. Under the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA Section 11(1)), mining operators are legally required to maintain dust levels on haul roads and active work areas below prescribed limits. Water tankers deployed on coal and general mining sites must operate continuously during shift to meet this obligation — dust suppression is not optional. On earthworks sites, moisture conditioning is a compaction requirement: most fill specifications require material to be within two to three percent of optimum moisture content (OMC) before compaction layers are placed. Under-watered fill produces non-compliant compaction test results and requires costly rework. Water tankers deployed with graders and rollers form an integrated finishing team — the tanker conditions the material, the grader shapes it, and the roller compacts it.
