ROM Processing

Mineral processing

ROM to Specification

Run-of-mine material comes out of the ground in an uncontrolled mix of sizes, fines, and oversize. Without processing, it has limited commercial value and can't be used directly on construction or sold to a buyer.

We crush and screen ROM feed into the size fractions your offtake agreement, process plant, or end-use requires. Target product sizes vary by commodity:

Hauling raw ROM or oversize material off-site adds cost, truck movements, and time to every project. On-site processing eliminates that — material is crushed and screened where it sits, graded to spec, and either stockpiled for sale or re-used directly on the project.

What material can you crush and screen on site?
Run-of-mine material, blasted or excavated rock, and demolition rubble. Jaw crushers take hard rock such as quartzite, dolerite, and granite. Impact crushers take softer rock, weathered material, and demolition rubble, where reinforcement would jam a jaw. We confirm the right crusher configuration against your material and product specification at quoting stage.
What product sizes can you produce?
Screening separates crushed material into the size fractions the project or buyer needs, from coarse product down to fines. For construction aggregate that means the SANS sizes of 6 mm, 13 mm, 19 mm, and 26.5 mm, as well as road stone, crusher run, and gravel. For run-of-mine material, target sizes vary by commodity and are set by the offtake agreement, process plant, or end use. Output specifications are confirmed per client or buyer requirement before mobilisation.
Why process material on site instead of hauling it away?

Can you crush demolition rubble for reuse?
Yes. Reinforced concrete rubble goes through an impact crusher rather than a jaw, because reinforcement bar jams a jaw crusher. Steel is separated after crushing by magnetic separation where the volume justifies it. The end product is typically crushed base course, used as fill on the same site or on adjacent projects. That saves the cost of carting rubble away and the cost of buying fill back in.
Which areas do you cover for crushing and screening?
We mobilise crushing and screening plant across Gauteng, Ekurhuleni, and Mpumalanga, including eMalahleni and the surrounding Witbank coalfield. Crushing and screening setups need a longer lead time than standard machines, so mobilisation timing is confirmed at quote stage.
